We dive in salt water and have found that if you use a Stainless Steel back
plate (we made custome ones to resemble the dive rite plate) then OMS made
them in SS -- mine is 8 lbs and with a set of double 85's or 120's  plus two
stage bottles of any size -- 80's 45's or 40's  and a DUI cf200 suit I only
put 6 lbs on my belt -- I would think in fresh water I would need no belt ...

Look at the ss plates.
