I'm not really sure where I come down on O2 cleanliness yet. I tend to think it's pretty important where 100% O2 is involved. I have an O2 admin card, and I would like to set up a 72 with a reg dedicated to 100% O2 and keep it clean. I have heard that without cleaning, there are three problems. The danger of full-on combustion, as has been mentioned, and also the danger of oxidation or rapid aging of non-oxygen safe parts. I have a Dacor Extreme reg, and if I recall correctly, Dacor won't certify it as oxygen-cleanable because of the material the poppet (the main internal valve seat) is made of. They might just be trying to avoid liablity. I would be happy to replace mine early and often. A third danger is that some grunge in the tank, however small, could reach flash point and smoulder, putting some CO in the tank. Don't want too much CO, thanks. As I said above, I'm not sure where I come down on O2 cleanliness yet. The above opinions and dangers are not even mine. Somebody asked, here's what I've heard. I'd like to repost a question I saw asked a few days ago: anybody know how to oxygen clean stuff? I thought someone mentioned detergent or something. Please explain further. I'd also like to add my two cents to Carl's last post. We are kind of in a lull here on techdiver. Anyone care to describe their rig or their deep techniques? roger. ------------------------------- Mars still needs women. ======================================================= Roger Carlson w 310-812-0430 somewhere off Hermosa Beach, CA f 310-812-1363 roger@ch*.sp*.tr*.co* h 310-frogger =======================================================
