I know this doesn't have much to do with techdiving - but I just felt like stating my opinion that what those fuckers are doing to the Titanic is an abomination. I just don't understand why the fuck they need to hack away at the wreck, bringing up huge pieces of the hull. So what? Who is going to fly to France just to look at a piece of steel? 1500 people died on that ship. Why don't we pull the wreckage of the Challenger out of storage in that silo, and put it on display too? How about George puts on display the tanks and Voit regs of all the dudes that died in caves on display too? If they want to bring up some flatware or small aritfacts, then fine - I don't have a problem with that, but I believe it is absolutely ludicrous to shag pieces of the hull from that ship to the surface. Those fuckers couldn't even do that right. Now, that hull piece will probably never be found, and most likely landed a couple of miles away from the main wreckage, to be lost forever. By all means, go down there, take pictures, make films, maybe bring up a plate or two, but keep your fucking grappling hands off the wreck itself. And that's all I have to say about that...
