It rotted because it wasn't used for several years. The reason I can't get too excited abpout all this now is because I have been without power and water since Thursday thanks to Fran. Just got a 5K generator on line. My Monitor dives start Wednesday but I probably won't get power before Friday. Luckily I don't need power for the Haskel. The big issue is whether or not I can make it to Hatteras on one tank of gas. Raleigh and eastern NC got the shit kicked out of them by Fran. There will be zero vis on the Monitor anyway. I can't leave the family until we have power. Topsail Island was destroyed. Hatteras was untouched. Funny thing is that no one here cares that I have a rebreather- they want my chain saw. The phone just came on so with what little power I have left in my lap top I am wasting it on this post.
