He did NOT pay his due, to go directly from an open water cert. to an
advanced with zero interveneing dives.  Even a few 20 ft quarry dives, to
allow the student to become familiar with his equipment without an
instructor hovering over him correcting mistakes.  Thats the only way to
learn, doing it yourself.


If this was an isolated incident I would totally agree with you.  However
it is not.  There must be something systemically wrong with the current
procedures that these identical accidents keep reocuring time and time
again. The only difference with  the one on the Forest City a few years
back was that both buddies died. To say nothing of one of the fatalities
on that very same wreck just last season.
