Alex,

You're absolutely correct.  I completely forgot about the difference in BC's.  
I usually dive with my transpac, completely without wings.  Like you said, you 
just don't need the lift.  Although I've modified the transpac a bit.  There 
just weren't enough D-Rings to hang all of that extra weight on.  I added three 
to each shoulder and two in the back to keep the distribution even.  I've also 
found that the neck strap I added helps keep the pack stable.
