What George meant was, your decompression and PO2 calculations are based 
on your "depth" as your depth gauge tells you.  And of course, your depth 
gauge isn't telling you how many feet below the surface you are; your 
depth gauge is telling you what the ambient pressure is.  Given this, and 
given that decompression is a function of the part of the gas that is NOT 
oxygen (as opposed to the PO2 per se), and given a bunch of other things 
that should be obvious....well...the answer should be pretty straightforward.

Now...if I could only get some diving experience, I could prove George 
wrong on his second point.
