A guy named Grant Gilmore, who has done more submersible diving looking
for the sorts of things I look for than anyone I know (check out the
Discovery Channel special on the work of him and John McCosker at
Galapagos that will be on very soon). He told me last June that he has
recently submitted or is about to submit a paper comparing how "Twilight
Zone" habitiats are different on different sides of the slopes.

In PNG, we found that the east and west facing derop-off were the best,
which makes sense because it's on the equator.
