Hi Tom In message <199608082028.NAA28178@df*.ix*.ne*.co*>, IANTD <iantdhq@ix*.ne*.co*> writes >Chris > >On the $100/hr I doubt that was a true statement, especially as I do >not think there is a real membership of the US deep diving team at this >time. As I said 'wether this is true or not' - The point I was trying to illustrate was the fact that the only real hard useful info that seems to be passed around right now comes from the WKPP guys. The source for the '$100 per hour' story is reputable and from what I know has no axe to grind over anything. > I know most of the people who may become associated with it, none >are at this moment except for the founders and they are not in >communication with anyone that I'm aware of As I said - it was a comment that was passed regarding a request for information/assistance. >. I agree that things get a little tedious at times. Most of the time however the comments are passed to prevent people with a lack of appreciation persuing something without being in possestion of the facts. > >I anticipate doing more diving with the WKPP but that will not change >my opnion about slamming people and some of the degrading comments that >arte put out. Sez you! - Seriously Tom, this is exactly the point you are illustrating. From my experience, and I've tried it for one season, butt mounting is fraut with problems. I am not going to discuss, since this is very_old_ground. Needless to say I do not recommend butt mounting. >One arguement is you cannot tow with a buttlight, I find no difference >with either light in that respect. I practice with both to be sure. By >the way I was waist mounting cave lights years before anyone now or >past who is involved with WKPP ever made there first cave dive. And I >still prefer buttmount. Can't comment - don't own/use a scooter :-( (yet! ;-) ) > I also like back pain free diving thus use a >transpack. Tried that one too. Not very successfully. Requires too much 'string and tape' to make it anything like - large bladder is too big, plus a heap of other things. But at least I've tried it!.
