Because although I have not been to the end of the line in Wakulla and
really do not care to not because of the distance that is no problem, i
simply do not wish to deco for 12 hours it is beyond my boredom
tolerance.

As I have dived both ways in a variety of environments well beyoind the
variety you have exposed ypourself to I feel on this issue I'm more
qualified to make the point than you are. You experience in
buttmounting is non existant, I have years of experience doing it both
ways

When I dive at WKPP it will be waist mount which I do anyway about 30
to 40 % of the time. There are dives in the blue holes where a waist
light means you do 1/2 the dive sideways which slows you down you can
scotter the same area with a butt mount in normal position

There is no one application for all situtations there are gereral
guidelines, bill main and I had a discussion on this that HE started
not me at Ginnie anout a month ago. He also agreed there is no problem
with butt mounted lightds as long as the rest of the config was clean
and streamlined and in his stongest opnion the long hose was breathed
from. This was with a group of the staff at Ginnie as well not just a
private talk and not one I started.
