Subject: Riffe utility float with CO2
Just received my Riffe utility float with CO2 inflator that Hal Gartner
spoke about. It's 38" long (extended) and 8" wide and made of red,
waterproofed, heavy-duty nylon. It has a little pocket at the end that
holds the CO2 cartridge and a small weight. It comes with a superb, large
5" stainless steel diaper/nappy safety pin (but without a point)
that could be used as a jon-line device.

Pros: It's small
      It's self-inflating
Cons: It's small
It's another piece of gear hanging off you
      Sticker shock

I wonder whether it really can be seen at a distance - the red color is
not day-glo at all and it's short. My Scuba Tuba extends to 6 feet but has
to be inflated at the surface. The major advantage is that this device is
can be inflated U/W with little or no hassle or expertise required. I wish
it did something else.

Get it (Item ID # F-1000) from:
