George,

Three possibilities come to mind:

(1) A local hospital /cardiologist in your area or even echo technician
might be willing to help. They could also contact the equipment
manufacturer for support with the long cord etc.

(2) DAN is training Field Research Coordinators all over the US in the
next few months. This is to help in their Project Dive Safety/Doppler
collection of 1 million dive profiles by the year 2000. I note that there
is a class in West Palm Beach Sept 13-15. Call (919) 684-2948 for further
info.

(3) Some clown like me could be lowered into your habitat (Androcles & the
Lion) and offer tests for various medical stuff.

Clearly option 2 is the best, if DAN will take you up on it. Good data
needs experienced collectors. I'd be happy to get trained as an FRC
(sounds like another guild, guys!), but my guess is that there already are
divers with the expertise who live in your area.

There are two reasons why your data would be relevant to the DAN project:
You're at the edge of diving profiles and I bet they don't pick up many
bubbles in most people who are diving and participate in their program.
That's why they need a million profiles and after you've surfaced post
your 9(?) hour deco party, it's not surprising that all the bubbles are
flat. But even if they didn't find any bubbles, checking for right to left
blood flow in someone who is in the water under several ATMs, has not been
done before, to my knowledge. Give them a call at the number above and see
what they say.
