What is this variation based on? Bennet and Elliot give the expected variation in FO2 for this type of system etc. as about +-5%. For the semiclosed constant mass flow rebreather Bill and I are diving they give a variation of about +-15%. However we observe a variation of about +-8% and then we really have to try. For "real" diving the variation in FO2 is more like +-3%. This makes me think the numbers quoted in B+E are population variations and for a given diver the FO2 will stay in a much narrower range.
