Subject: SCR numbers

As promised here are some actual numbers!. These are from a test dive that
Bill and I did last Sunday. The breather was, as always, our semiclosed circuit
constant mass flow UBA. It was loaded with ~50% O2 and operating at ~8 lpm.
Bill has the actual records but they are within a few percent of these numbers.

@33 fsw / 2 ATA, PO2 was

    rest                   .96-.98
    moderate               .93-.91
    short maximal burst    .78-.80

@61 fsw / 2.85 ATA , PO2 was

    rest                  1.46-1.48
    moderate              1.4

These numbers will be somewhat skewed because our supply regulator is
still depth compensated and hence the flow rate rises slightly with depth
( about 10% per ATA ).

From the above numbers one can easily calculate

@33 fsw / 2 ATA, FO2 was

    rest                   .48-.49
    moderate               .46-.45
    short maximal burst    .39-.40

@61 fsw / 2.85 ATA , FO2 was

    rest                  .51-.52
    moderate              .49

A word about the short burst. I swam a series of 3 wind sprints for about
a minute each. These were maximal efforts unlikely to be repeated in any
"real" dive. I will try a longer duration swimming effort next time we do
some tests.

One interesting point is the VO2 of the maximal effort. I get

  VO2 = ~1.6 lpm

This is in contrast to my efforts on land ( running up stairs ) where I
easily managed a VO2 > 2.00 lpm ( single test ).

We will probably repeat these tests or variations there of. However we have
now made 3 such test dives ( Myself 1 and Bill 2 ) and the results have
been consistent.
