In response to your request that new subscribers not 'lurk' but get actively involved and introduce themselves, here goes: I am not a diver. With hearing in one ear ENT's have told me not to risk the loss of the one that works! Makes sense to me. However, I am an EMT and ParaMedic Assistant in the Greater Cincinnati (OH) area and have been with the Boone County (KY) Water Rescue Team for three years. The Team was founded in 1967 and adopted the Public Safety Diver protocols of Dive Rescue International about two years ago. Part of our protocol requires active medical attention for all personnel with Medical Dive considerations topping the list. Last year I was promoted to EMS Coordinator for the Team's 23 EMT's. During last year we attended a MedDive twenty hour class and have been instituting the protocols taught during that class. My area of interest will be in medically related material, but will be looking forward to taking Tech Dive information to our Dive Masters who are Public Safety Diving Instructors. They are quite interested in looking in to Nitrox mixes for prolonged Search & Rescue details and/or dives over 30 feet. This is a brief sketch of me, I look forward to gaining a great deal of knowledge from the technical diving community. Please let me hear from you! Coleman Sachs, Sgt. Boone County Water Rescue Team
