Sorry folks, it's flame time.

I've been following rebreather development for a couple of years now, and am
keen to get into the furture of diving and own one of these things. I'm not
a deepy freaky - I take piccies and watch fish, but the ability to do that
without scaring the wildlife certainly appeals, and safe, cheap depth also
has some attraction.

Anyway, at the UK Dive show earlier this year, I spied the Prism semi-closed
system and spent some time on the stand talking about what this system can
do, how much it costs etc. Prism (in the shape of Mr P Readie) then told me
that I could arrange a familiarisation day with these new toys at Fort
Bovisand. I duly booked 2 places for 21 May, but the week before got a
letter telling me the course was cancelled, and that I could rebook for 30
July - Bovisand had a comprehensive list of dates all through the summer.
DIVER magazine (the voice of the BSAC) ran a review of the PRISM, sparking
more interest, so I tried to organise a course for early July for a small
group of us. Bovisand were rather embarressed to inform me that the good Mr
Readie had absconded to the USA (which is why the 21 May course was
scrapped), and that he wouldn't be back until mid September. He hasn't left
anybody else who can run the course, so they've had to cancel every single
Rebreather course they'd advertised at the dive show. So, all of us Brits
who wanted to get in at the ground floor of this have to wait until the end
of this diving season to experience it, and will probably find something
else to spend our money on in the meantime.

Well, thanks a bunch Mr Readie - afetr dangling the hook in front of a
potential marketplace, you've gone and pi**ed off a fair number of potential
sales. So, if anybody does get to dive the Prism (in the US I'd imagine),
could you PLEASE LET HIM KNOW that he's shot himself in the foot in the UK.

Ah, that feels better

Keith
