Michael, open water gear is the same as Hogarthian except that there is only
one first stage, and the long hose is only about 40 inches - remember, you are
not doing overhead with one reg, so will need no long hose, jsut enough to
share
going straight up.

If I was doing a full wreck dive, I would have my fullcave gear on, and the
proper gas, not air in a single 80. I just like to go diving, and I do whatever
Mimms has on the plate, which in this caswe was the little freighter. Usually
he
does a wreck where we can swim between two or three of them and back - this one
was by itself

I use a normal Scuba Pro or Seaquest jacket, with all of the shit cut off,
and
a backup light on one of the straps, a weightbelt that also has a crotch strap
for scootering, the normal jet fins, a skin, a bottom timer, and a compass. The
knife is on the belt. That is all

Backup reg is around the neck, breath the "octopus", the pressure guage is
cliiped off to the bottom of the bc on the left, and the inflator hose comes
over the shoulder.

I can swim to shore, so have no bags or other things. We do take a float ball
down with us, and then let it up when we stop, so the boat can zero in on us if
we are lobster diving. The float has the normal dive flag and all, and it has
very little buoyancy, so you do not notice it
