Gee, I hate these neverending arguments that just go on and on like bad
zombie movies.

Okay, folks, from the top. I simply objected to the following:

To me, this sounds like rebreathers are the only way to dive. I don't 
believe they are, for the following reasons:

1) They haven't been in the hands of non-military users long enough for
their safety to be ascertained;

and

2) open circuit scuba still has a lot going for it.

I am NOT saying that rebreathers are useless, or that they are dangerous
(they may or may not be, but no one can know for sure), or that one is
wrong to dive with them. 

I am glad there are people out there diving with them; that's the only way 
the damn things can get a safety record. But please don't make it sound
like only "Bullshit dives open circuit".

Can we put this silly argument to rest now? Pretty please?
