Here in the states, fire is what they put burst disks in tanks for. I
might mention though that a few weeks ago for absolutely no reason a bust 
disk let go in a tank that was sitting in my garage. The tank (and disk)
were about a year old. Its something to think about when you have no backup
air supply.

As for accidents, I always place tanks in my big car so that the valve
faces forward. My reasoning is that if someone rear ends me and a
valve is snapped off, I don't want to be hit by a missile that I didn't
trigger. Of course the valve itself can be the equivalant of a 100
caliber bullet....
