Well I have caused a fuss. Now about this gear, none of it was mine, it belonged to the club and members, of a chap in my office. My car has no stickers of any kind at all, and it regularly carries 2-4 cylinders, I have heard stories of cylinders, damaged in collisions flipping cars over, most probably untrue, but none regarding fire, perhaps that is because fire is thankfully rare. If a fire were to occur in the engine compartment you would have time to get the cylinders out of the boot, or run a considerable distance, before it got to the cylinders. If you were involved in a big pile up, the cylinder sticker would give you no protection, the trick must be to avoid such incidents. Or if you want to put a sticker on your car, how about one deliberatly intended to frighten "HIGHLY EXPLOSIVE CARGO - KEEP WELL CLEAR" who knows it might even keep the thieves away. A good number of people go shooting at weekends, and legally carry shotguns and cartridges, but have you ever seen a sticker that sugested the car might be carrying such items, I haven't. Now if one of their cars caught fire surely the problem would be similar. I bet the police activly discourage such advertising. David Hallsworth
