Our millions of years of evolution was also designed to remove us from the
sea in the first place.Nitrogen absorbtion at depth is an "unnatural"
phenomenon in this context,so it's not surprising if the body's natural
clotting mechanism is not suited for it.I'm not current on the PROVEN
benefits of aspirin therapy in preventing or reducing the risk of DCS,but
unless there is hard, factual evidence that it does significantly reduce
these risks,I'd agree you're probably better off without it.Duration of
therapy, dosing, and predispositions to conditions that are contraindicated
for aspirin use are all part of the equation, and I'm a firm believer in
taking medication only for a specific purpose.Vitamins dont come under the
same category;unless you have a tendency to chew on willow bark, salicylic
acid is not part of your normal diet.BUT..the day someone shows me a hard
percentage reduction in the incidence of DCS via aspirin pretreatment, that's
the day I buy the 1000 count bottle at Sam's (just kidding..the stuff DOES
go bad,you know?)If the study's been done,someone forward me the data,I'd
like to read it.
