In response to your question regardings doubles bands.  There is a 
mnufacturer (I cannot recall who) that markets a soft band set up for 
doubles.  Personally, I would not trust it to hold the tanks together 
without significant torquing of the manifold.  Dive rite has custom 
manufactuered quick release stainless steel bands for doubles for special 
aplications (there own use), however, they do not market them.  You might 
be able to get them to custom manufatur some for you.
