I am sick of weaving through diving declarations, exclusion clauses and other devices insurance companies use to treat serious divers like lepers. Right now, the only way I can get life insurance that will cover me on serious dives is through a collection of little 'give-away' policies - the kind that banks give out to their customers as promotional items, y'know, $50,000 of accidental death cover for $50 no questions asked, suicide being the only exclusion. The problem is, with my major policy, if I kark on a play dive, I've got a feeling that the insurance company could spend a while trying to prove I was diving in their 'exclusion zone' so they didn't have to pay out. I hate the idea of my wife and child being stuffed around like that. I thought the idea of insurance was to spread the risk through a larger, more amorphous population. I want to find an insurance co. that will spread my risk with a bunch of nuns or non-smoking canasta players, or someone. Or at least find some meaningful stats to prove I have less chance of coming to a sudden halt than some slob ten years my junior who's major activity is sitting on a park bench eating chips (fries) and who's probly up to their arse-hole in insurance policies. Any ideas? rgrds billyw Jeez. Isn't death depressing. especially your own.
