There was an article in one of the last two issues of Sport Diver on the Retro DPV. They had some nice things to say about it. Seems they have circuitry inside to convert the battery power to pulsating DC. This provides both an efficient variable speed control (kinda like the dimmer on that dining room light) and dramatically extends the battery life. Seems they also beefed up the housing and made some other improvements to extend the working depth. If there is any interest, I will try to locate the article and post contact information.
