Eric, The only time I remember being really "hammered" was in Gilboa Stone Quarry! In that case, I was in the sump. (130fsw+) and away from the walls (ie location reference). I suspect it has to do in part with the temperature, 36 deg. F, the lack of natural light (sulher layer) and the stark, barren landscape of the place. Additionally, my descent had been rapid and I was short on sleep from the night before. I'm not an expert on inert gas narcosis, but I suspect these were all contributing factors. Perhaps someone with a little more insight and knowledge will shed soem light on the subject. Regards, Bob
