Hello Richard: I could not agree with you more. Last year, while servicing one of my = stainless regs, that are rinsed thoroughly after each dive, of all = things I found "rust". Not the type you find on ordinary metal but just = enough to really mess up O-ring seals and piston walls. Since then I = have changed my regs, they all have environmental kits. An ounce of = prevention, perhaps. I use the SPEC kit on all my SP regulators, and I only dive in tropical=20 waters. It keeps saltwater outside of the spring chamber and greatly=20 reduces corrosion.
