Until a few years ago the acronym stood for 'Deutsche IndustrieNorm'. >>Simply a German equivalent of the Compressed Gas Association (CGA).<< Not at all, DIN norms exist for just about everything, from dive equipment to paper size to computer equipment to the length of coffin nails and the width of toilet seats. In fact, I'd challenge you to name a German product for which there is NO DIN norm. Good luck <bg>. As for the guy that claimed that DIN valves were a 'techie' piece of equipment, oh well...
