Given that to teach sport diving in this country you have to
aquire a (hard won over many years of lobbying) HSE medical, HSE medic
qualification and an HSE part IV restricted exemption for teaching, it's
not really surprising that they expect you to be able to get the
relevant HSE bog roll for the 'mixed gas' diving that you're talking
about.

And wasn't it drager who called techdivers 'bungy jumpers'?

The HSE *is* a monolithic and very conservative organisation.
They have the North Sea rigs to deal with, so they have to be, and with
as few loop holes as possible. It's only by pointing out that i) sport
diving is a major economic player these days, and ii) people are going
to do it anyway, that BSAC have kept the restrictions on sport diving so
low.

To be honest, I'm glad to see someone putting the brakes on.
When it comes to 'breathers, they'll be really exited, since they don't
rate those in the HSE!

When Nx instruction and sales become a major part of UK sport
diving, maybe they'll allow the same slack.

	Jason
