This just goes to show you what happens when you are in a rush. Brett Gilliam sent me two faxes today and asked me to transcribe them and post them to the net. I gladly did so but was in the middle of my own projects and never thought to click on the spell checker after I hastily copied the faxes. This has resulted in a fair amount of grief being given to him from the many astute readers who took great pleasure in pointing out the many typos. So, let it be known, the typos were all MINE, and his original fax was without blemish! ============= For Immediately Release UWATEC USA INC. announced the appointment of Bret Gilliam as the new chief Executive Officer on April 23rd, 1996. Gilliam is a well known diving industry veteran with over 25 years of professional experience. he is the founder of technical Diving International (TDI) and Ocean Tech as well as ex-chairman of NAUI's Board of Directors. As CEO, Gilliam is in charge of all aspects of UWATEC's business in the SA, Canna and Caribbean. Since beginning diving in 1958, Gilliam has logged over 14,000 dives worldwide. His experience includes military/commercial diving, resort and livaboard vessel operations, and recompression chamber supervision. he holds licenses as a US Coast Guard Merchant Marine Master and deep submersible pilot. Widely published as an international author and photographer his work has appeared in all major diving magazines and other outdoor sport media., In the 1990's Gilliam pioneered the development of technical diving and the use of mixed gases, nitrox and rebreathers in the sport markets. UWATEC's parent company is Headquartered in Switzerland and is the world's largest manufacturer of diving instruments and computers. The offices of UWATEC USA were closed for one day on April 24th to facilitate the transition to the new management team. The company is now fully operational and back to "business as usual".
