What??? This isn't cavers???

You forget that the cavers list alone isn't a sufficiently
large enough audience, and that wreck divers and tech
divers are trying to kill themselves and everyone within
reach. Besides, when you aren't doing life threatening
dives with a TEAM successfully on a regular basis
you don't have any valid input - and NO deep air
diving doesn't count.

But enough ribbing, I think techdiver has gotten a
bit uptight. We all started to (and some of us still do)
dive for pleasure. Remember that, when you enjoyed
it? Now it seems that everyone has to one-up the
next guy/gal. Some clown has to beat the deep air
record, some other fool has to add 12/50/1500 feet
of line onto someone else's. Boy, you guys showed
all of us! Isn't this something that disappeared shortly
after getting certified, right about the time when you
realized you could stop buying and building every
piece of gear you saw and clipping it on for a dive?

I'm going diving. I am going to do things and use
gear that would get me flamed from coast to coast
and I'm going to get some lobsters (real ones - with
claws ;-), bring up some rust covered piece of brass
and smile all day long 'cause I had a great dive - and
I don't care who I impress or DON'T!!!

Why is this garbage on techdiver? Why not just leave it on Cavers where it
belongs?  Florida ain't the whole world, guys, and the rest of us just don't 

care.
