Well folks, it seems that TechDiver was hit by a bizarre
combination of broken mailers last night.

It would appear that broken mailers in Colorado, in Washington DC,
and in Sydney (?) Australia conspired to create a loop that caused
multiple copies of a message to be sent through the list server
here and hence to get delivered to everyone.  I personally ended
up with over 7 MB of bounce reports and syslog trace!

I have had messages from the maintainers of the dubious mailers,
apologizing for the problems and asking me to pass apologies on
to everyone on this list.  In the interests of avoiding global
flame wars, I'm going to resist the temptation of revealing the
addresses of those whose mailers were involved; I'm sure they'll
send messages here if they feel up to it!

I would like to add that <roger@ch*.sp*.tr*.co*> was not to
blame for this problem.  It was just unfortunate that his was
the last message to get sent when the problem arose.  Please don't
send him complaints!

On assurances from those involved that things are fixed, I am
now re-enabling the TechDiver list server.  Fingers crossed!
