"Raimio", I agree with a card, but that is it. What is happening donw here is that the agancies have divided a 30 minute class room course into three or four levels of bogosity and several strata of cards - complete bullshit. The shop ownsers, like that asshole mentioned before, then will not fill certain mixes without all of these stupid cards. Anyone who cannot figure out nitrox or timix in a half hour is brain dead in the first place. Bob, as you know, we teach all of our own divers. It took me and Gavin about four minutes to teach Rick Sankey and Brent Scarabin how to do this. Real tough. In fact, Rat was gassing their tanks (we have our own compressor, so don't have to deal with assholes), and Bill and I were telling them how to use the gas. We then went diving. The myth that this is a highly technical undertaking is created (understandably) by the fact that most people in the dive industry have the IQ's of a farm animal and can not understand the most basic math, can not set up equations, and can generally not think at all. For them it is a tough thing, akin to brain surgery or rocket science. For the rest of us, it is a joke. -G On Sat, 13 Apr 1996, Raimo4252@ao*.co* wrote: >While I usually tend to agree with George, as a shop owner I have to agree >with Steve on this one.
