Andy, you may have picked up the Harvard Lampoon version of "Mixed Gas Diving". Although actually not nearly as funny as the real thing, it may have more inaccuracies, misstatements, misinformation, and complete and utter bullshit than even the real thing. The Lampoon version is the one with the Tai Chi breathing and the telepathic dives with Jim Lockwood. I am sure the Kraken is as good as all of the other rebreathers that Mount recommends, and has been used just as many times by him. Be sure to oxygen clean it and keep checking the mix to see if it has stratified or finally gone ahead and mixed. Make sure you get one of those highly qualified rebreather instructor trainers from IANTD to take you through the course in using this machine. May I suggest for further comedy you go rent a Jim Cary movie, and save yourself the aggravation. -G On Sat, 13 Apr 1996, Andrew Jenks <vaps5aj@pr*.ga*.ed*> wrote: >On re-reading the intro to _Mixed Gas Diving_ by Tom Mount and Scott >Gilliam, I found a rather significant section devoted to the Kraken, a >rebreather available in both nitrox and heliox starting in 1993.
