In response to a couple of people who have asked, here is subscription
information for Underwater Speleology. Be warned that the NSS-CDS
(Cave Diving Section of the National Speleological Association)
a volunteer run disorganization and may be slow responding. The NSS
itself is better.
Subscriptions in the U.S.A. are $20 per year.
NSS membership $25 per year.
CDS membership $10 per year.
Foreign postage surcharge is $10 per year.
Bank fee if check or money
order is not for U.S. funds $10.
Notice that membership in the section includes a subscription and
costs only $10. There are two disadvantages to this:
(1) You must also be a member of the parent organization, the NSS,
which is $25. You can apply to both at the same time. The NSS
is mainly devoted to "dry" caving and has a monthly newsletter
a quarterly journal of speleology which are included and well
worth the $15 above the cost of a subscription to Underwater
Speleology alone if you have any interest in dry caves.
(2) Due to the excess of lawyers in the U.S. they are now making it
a hassle to join. You must sign a liability waiver and have two
witnesses just to belong to the CDS.
If you are that persistent the address of the section is:
NSS-CDS
P.O. Box 950
Branford, FL 32008-0950 U.S.A.
Allow at least 6 to 8 weeks for any response.
Also be warned that publications may not be timely. This is especially
true of the next issue since the editorship is unexpectedly vacant.
I would advise anyone who wants to subscribe (and not join) to wait
until a new editor is found and contact him or her directly. I will
post the name and address when I have them.
