Tom, I never actually did it (put air on O2), as I did the only right thing, which was to go to the guy whom we pay for this advice - Dr. R.W. "Bill" Hamilton. He assured me that this was nonsense and told me to do exactly what he posted on here, so that is what we do. We are not dealing with people who can not control their bouyancy - such people have no business diving with any gas but air, in a swimming pool, under the careful watchfull eye of PADI instructor and divemaster who can pull their stupid ass out when they choke on their own stupidity. We have four deco gases: O2/20, 50%/70,35%/120, and 21%/190. In a habitat we have O2 at 30 with special procedures and tables, but no 20 or 10 foot stop. Also, we use bottom gas for the 260-200 stops. We only have five markings : O2, 70,120,190, and the bottom depth. To use any inverse gasses, or any special gases requires the appoval of the Project Engineer, the Project Director, the recommendation of the Risk Manager, the workup by Hamilton and the advice of Hamilton, and then I will not approve it anyway, sicne only a deco weenie wold need something like this, and what I suggest to them is that they spend more time in the pool or at the track, and not risk our permits with weenery. When I start worrying about getting bent is when I quit diving. The worst injury I have sustained extreme cave diving is when I had to get a cortezone shot in my trigger finger after the last A Tunnel dive, and that is how it should be - hammer down 'till it hurts. . -G
