>What parameters are people at the cutting edge of >possible decompression profiles research studying >right now and are the obserbed data used to build >or refine bubble mechanical models ? John, the answers are in your question. We use Hamilton Research combined with the bubble machanics work of the Maikens and the Weinkes, along with the fine tuning from what now amounts to thousands of man hours of these dives. We are doing the biggest deco and most extreme profiles in non-commercial diving, with perfect results. Yes, we have verified them with doppler, and yes , some of us have scans done over the last five years - no lesions, no necrosis. I do not know where this "pessimism" comes from regarding successful deco, but it is misplaced. There are also some German studies, some Navy studies, a Chinese study , and several Japanses studies that support what we at WKPP have already been doing successfully for several years. The major problem is that there is too much interference from amatueur deco table makers, as well as weenery from the computer manufacuturers, and outright crap taught by the training agencies in this regard under the excuse of "liability". As the pros - Bill Hamilton, Maiken, Weinke, etc. Two of those three are on here. - G
