Hi, Barrie! The only rig i have come across with the weight system you mention is the AGA ACSC rebreather. ACSC stands for 'alternately closed/semi-closed'. It uses a mechanically driven ratchet which every few breaths injects a fresh dose of gas. It uses weights on the counterlung so that if lying on the front it increases the pressure and if lying on the back it reduces the pressure. i have not used one so i cannot say how good it works. I have no idea of cost or even if it is available to the non-military user. I do have a manual somewhere if you need more specific info. Best wishes, Julian Bottomer, TDI (Europe) HQ In your message dated Friday 8, March 1996 you wrote : > Does any one know if the CCR-1000, Mk 15, Mk 15.5 or other rebreathers > weight thier back mounted counter lungs to reduce inhalation resistance? > Currently our breather has a front mounted counter lung.
