ScubaPro is the only company that works with JiffyLube, and sells a
reg with a grease fitting on it.

It probably wouldn't hurt the reg, so long as you didn't fill the inside
of the reg up with the stuff. I sure as hell wouldn't do it to my
Posiedons! My technician friend tells me all the grease does is 
attract dirt. He hates the stuff.

Resistence to freeze up is a function of how much moisture is inside
the first stage. If you want to avoid first stage freeze up, don't
"blow out" the first stage when you take it off the tank. I've also
found that resently serviced regs tend to do better, probably because
the inside of the first stage is very clean and dry.
