The UHMS is the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Society, run by and for MDs. As such I usually find it the best single US source for medical information related to diving. They allow sponsored Associate Members who are not MDs, and publish a journal which is often quite interesting (but at other times quite boring :() They also hold annual conferences: this year's will be in Denver, CO. Finally, they sell reference materials, including some of their own authoring as well as an abstract service, and the staff at the Bethesda office will do literature searches. I believe all services are for fee, and they may be limited to members, but I'm not sure. They can be contacted at: Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society 9650 Rockville Pike Bethesda, Maryland 20814 voice: (301) 571-1818 fax: (301) 571-1815 Cheers, David Story NAUI AI Z9588, PADI DM 43922, EMT story@be*.wp*.sg*.co* Better diving through lithium.
