  Check this out: in the recent issue of "Alert Diver", the Director of Medical 
Sevices for DAN wrote the following:

         "The Diver: A recently certified 25-year-old woman had just returned
          from her first weekend dive vatcation in Mexico. She takes mild med-
          ication for anxiety and smokes a pack of cigarettes daily. She's in 
          good physical shape but isn't involved in a regular exercise program."

          and it goes donwhill from here. 

   Can anyone tell me what kind of idiot would write this, and when DAN is
going 
to quit pumping out slop like this and figure out that 1) diving is not for 
everybody, and 2) that they are doing nobody any good with their collective 
heads burried this deeply in the sand. - G
