I'm surprised y'all are overlooking one great invention that can reduce the
boredom on your long hangs -

OTS makes an underwater speaker system that can transmit sound to divers
without comm gear.  I'm told the commercial guys use it to pipe down Led
Zepplin tunes while they are working on the oil rigs.

The only problem with the system is if someone on the boat decided to pipe in
some "Barry Manilow's greatest hits" records.  

Then you would have to choose between suffering for hours, or getting bent...

As for me, I'd probably leave the water...
