>firstly i don't care if you all flame me for this but please can you keep
the language a little better than usual-i was brought up in a society where
we were taught that foul language was invariably used by lower life forms
who either did not understand the argument or did not have the vocabulary
to compose a response.
>i'm sure that many of us would like to be able to check our mail without
having to send the kids out of the room first.
>thanks
>having followed the discussion about correct gear rigging for several weeks
and having watched george's "doing it right" video many times i've made a
number of low risk/low stress dives during the last month trying out a
number of george's recommendations (orders?) and would like to pass on my
own comments for what they're worth:
>the general idea of having all the hoses pointing straight down and
passing behind the head seems to work very well for me.
>using pieces of inner tube rather than surgical tubing is absolutely better
since it avoids the potential line snag of the join in the surgical tube.
>thus far the idea of breathing the long hose seems more logical though i
can see a few potential problems if a less-than-calm diver is going for an
air supply(no problem if you only ever dive with others you trust). since
there is logic to breathing the regulator on the left post (potentially the
one most likely to be rolled off) why not breathe the long hose mounted on
the left post with the short hose on the right post to be retained if the
long is donated?
>over two weekends i've tried waist mounting, backplate mounting and butt
mounting my light and for me buttmounting has been the most comfortable and
best balanced setup- if someone else doesn't like that, that's fine but for
me it works and for the diving i'm doing with the equipment i'm using it has
no disadvantage.
>likewise for the diving i'm doing my square, grey dive rite light performs
just fine. if i ever get to diving in an environment where an inordinate
number of my peers are having problems with this type of light then i may
look at changing equipment when diving with that group or in those
circumstances.
>the same applies to my bc. right now i'm using a dive rite backplate and
wings, i also plan to continue experimenting with my transpac- the backplate
system definitely is more streamlined but i must say the transpac is more
comfortable- i think i may be able to make the transpac into a more
streamlined unit in time by changing some of the adjustments into permanent
settings to suit me.
>i think the point i most would like to make is that if diving within an
environment where the equipment configuration is laid down (WKPP) then you
have to abide by the rules, otherwise you are free to (and should) listen to
and look at every other divers ideas and choose those that suit your own needs.
>shoot me down if you will but be sure you have logic on your side- if you
can't master correct English then please work on that before replying
>regards all
