On 5Feb96, Hugh Huntzinger wrote a bunch of stuff flaming us for our
"Trial by fire/Trial by ice" advertising insert. Most of the arguments
too silly and rediculous to even comment on. Next day, Lee Bell sort of
warmed us over a bit, also.

Hugh, your name is familiar. Have you flamed us before? Ok,Ok, we may
have used too many zeros. Sorry about that, oh great wise one. We'll
try to do better next time. We feel properly chastized over a zero.

Whatta you mean we didn't use industry standard tests? As stated, we
used the "Cochran Shake...Rattle...and Roll" test, the "Cochran
Mechanical Vibration" test, and the "Cochran Oops, I dropped it in the
Road" test. We actually did all this stuff, if no one else in the
industry adopts these tests, not OUR fault. In fact, we also have a
"Damn, it fell off the truck in the parking lot and I ran over it, does
this mean I am fired?" test. We also have a "Whoops, I accidently put
five units in a bucket, filled it with water, put it in the freezer and
froze it solid, then got the bucket out and woke up the still frozen
units" test. All of these tests were successful also, but we didn't
have enough ad space to include them. These last two are not industry
standard either, but HEY, we keep on trying. Maybe some day...

As far as being able to duplicate these tests, we used our imagination
and had a little fun. Why don't you try it some day. (Using your
imagination and having a little fun, that is. Get it?)

The disclaimer at the bottom of the ad says:
"WARNING - Don't try this at home! Cochran dive instruments are
warrantied only for normal diving use within established limits. These
tests were conducted by professional scientists, chefs and truck
drivers. Cochran Undersea Technology does not encourage diving in
boiling cauldrons or blocks of ice without special training and gas
mixes....."

But in your case we might make an exception.<g>
