No, I'm not at all interested. I have other forums to find out about this. Do NOT send me direct e-mail with any advertisements. If you were distributing on a voluntary reader setup like netnews, no problem, but your messages to techdiver go directly to my inbox, and I'd rather not have to filter any more than I have to. ... >> Rick Williams writes: ... On BBC 1 (UK) breakfast TV business news there was an ominous-sounding item that seemed to be about advertizing firms (not in diving) planning to advertise goods by email. Please: a separate email address for advertizing diving gear and dives; but diving advertizements only. Or enforce that Subject: lines of advertisement email all start with the word `ADVERT:', so people can easily skip or delete them. The TV program said that "previous advertizing business plans to advertise by email have caused mass flamethrower fire by computer users in reply, as [neither divers nor anyone else] want their email intrays to be choked with junk mail till useful messages are ignored [because often emailers can only store so many messages, or so many bytes total of messages], but things may change".
