I'm quite fond of my SP Jet fins. I've had them for fifteen years, and the only reason I may give them up is that the rubber is doing this weird chemical thing where the surface of the rubber inside the boot is sticky. It seems a little soft too. This is after fifteen years, with an extended storage period. I'm using them now, and will probably keep using them until the rubber actually starts to tear. I know that SP has reformulated the rubber to make it lighter, and presumably more resistant to the kind of breakdown that I'm seeing. I'd like to have a pair of their new colored Jet fins, having a pair of brightly colored fins would be a nice thing for the current swept areas I dive. Also, I'd be really happy to see Scuba Pro modernize the buckles. The funky old metal loops had their time, and any advantage they may offer is no longer as beneficial as the newer easier to use plastic buckles common on most other fins. The one thing I really did appreciate on my own Force fin tryout, was how easy it was to use the nylon straps, putting the fin on with them loose, then pulling them tight after they are on. You can't do that with the Jet fins. -->Aaron ---------- From: NATHANEL FUSTER[SMTP:NATHANEL_FUSTER@gu*.br*.af*.mi*] Sent: Thursday, February 01, 1996 5:43 AM To: techdiver@terra.net Subject: JETFINS Opinions? Hi, I was just curious what everyone thinks of the old Scubapro style JETFINS? <snip>
