YES!  This is what I mean when I refer to "residual narcosis", and it's
quite common after dives like you describe.

After reeaaal   REEEEAAAAAAALL BAAAAAD narcosis (i.e., repeated exposures
to air at 300++ feet), this residual narcosis can last for days, and
subtle symptoms may last for months.  Makes one woder what sorts of
permanent damage narcosis might cause.

I was told lots of stuff in "basic training", which I no longer believe. 
This, I think, is one of the basic problems with entry-level SCUBA courses
- too much misinformation used to "simplify" explanations of what's REALLY
going on.
