Dan, you are 100% correct. The only problem with the one you are talking about, not considering any materials or workmanship issues which I did not check, is the chance to use up too much of the oxygen shallow due to high metobolic rate. The flip side is that the production of moisture is not a death sentence, as it can be with a machine that depends on a sensor. Any machine that contains electronic black boxes underwater is like palying Russian Roulette. During the Viet Nam War, I had a chance to go on the ground with a gun in my hand, or go in the air with a piece of equipment that had a 30% failure rate. I took the 30%. Right now, I am not at war. I'll take scuba. If I had to go long with a breather, it would be the Odyessy-type design to my own specs, look at Isler - I don't see anyone with a fully closed breather doing shit except for Rod farb, and he is not cave diving. If I were doing what Farb is doing, I would use the 15.5 like he is, but I would not be caught "dead" using one of these shade tree pieces of crap. When any of these guys can something that they would do a Tallahassee cave dive with, then I will look at their breathers. - G
