During a dive a few days ago my system (abyss) was significantly harder to breathe during the entire dive. Conditions were as follows: Air temp: 5-6 centigrades below freezing. Water temp : at freezing (ice "sludge" on the surface) Depth: 100 fsw Water: Brackish (baltic) Duration: 32 min. Regulator was probably wet from a recent rinse As inhaled, i could hear the "wheezing" sound of the 1st stage filling my hose *after* i finished each breath. It seemed like the 1st stage couldnt really keep up with my demand. My first reaction was to signal my buddy to check that I had really opened the bottle fully (which I had). The feeling was just like when you have opened the valve partially. Can this be attributed to freezing? (one would expect a free flow really) I'm having the stuff checked and serviced and "anti-freezed" anyway but i'd appreciate your views /RS (o o) +------------------------------oOO--(_)--OOo-----------------------------+ | Richard Soderberg, MD, PADI DM | The Karolinska Institute | | Systems analyst | MIC-KIBIC | | Voice#: +46 8 728 80 00 | Library and | | Fax# : +46 8 33 04 81 | Medical Information Center | | Snail : PO Box 200 | Doktorsringen 21 C, | | S-177 77 Stockholm | S-104 01 Stockholm | | Email :richard.soderberg@mi*.ki*.se* | SWEDEN | +------------------------------------+-----------------------------------+
