Re: the New Gun in Town A few thoughts from the left side of the U.S. - Tek diving and Military special operations have many similarities: Both operate in a relatively dangerous environment Both require fit individuals We have found that Teams work better than "heros" Equipment redundancy is essential - remember that "two is one - one is none" Both require meticulous attention to planning and preparation Both are intolerant of poor equipment, inadequate training and unreliable personnel (operators) Both require that you "know yourself and your enemy" (your limitations and the environment) Both require an almost reflexive reaction to danger or equipment failure. Both require FREQUENT REALISTIC practice to maintain acceptable skill levels Mark Lonsdale Special Operations Instructor STTU
