NOT that i'm arguing for breathing the short hose per se, but... i could ALSO say that if a buddy cannot be relied upon to discuss gas sharing ahead of time and then be relied upon to go for the agreed upon regulator then HE "should not be diving" either why MUST we assume that the distressed diver becomes an instantly unreliable, panicky liability? which of you has needed to share a partner's gas underwater? did YOU signal the need to share and get HANDED the regulator...or did you dash up and SNATCH the regulator from your partner's shocked lips? (as the scenario has been exclusively portrayed) perhaps it's all more about George's infamous rule #1 than it is about hoses what do you all think? w2
